This section explains what training courses Talbot has to offer and what your next step should be if you feel you would like to know more.
Talbot Training Courses

PART 1 :
In order to be successful at the Part 1 exam you will need a thorough understanding of driving theory as well as being able to show you can recognize developing hazards. Most people are content to study at home at their own pace. We can help you prepare for the exam if there are areas of study with which you are having difficulty.
Unlike some training establishments which charge substantial fixed sums, in advance, for training you may well not need, we charge you on an hourly basis only for the amount of training you require* e.g. if you have 5 hours training you pay for 5 hours.

PART 2 :
The Part 2 driving ability course is carried out entirely in-car. Using modern cars, or if preferred your own car (subject to Insurance cover), our instructors will raise your driving standard to the level required by the Driving Standards Agency. The standard is very demanding and only top grade driving will enable you to achieve success in the test.
Again, unlike some training establishments which will charge you substantial sums in advance for training you may not need, we will charge you on an hourly basis only for the amount of training you receive*. Because we all differ in our driving ability, some people will require less training than others, some will require more. With Talbot you pay only forthe training you need.

PART 3 :
The Part 3 instructional ability course is carried out entirely in-car. We train you in the techniques involved in teaching a learner to become a competent driver. We finally prepare you for the examination.
This is a 40 hour course carried out in 2, 3 or 4 hour sessions which makes it easier for you to fit your training in around your other commitments.

We do not ask for substantial up-front payments or ask you to sign a contract tying you to Talbot School of Motoring. To make it easier for you financially, we charge you only on an hourly basis for each session*.Further training for 20 hour Trainee Licence requirements are charged in the same way.

Please note that our hourly charges do not include the DSA examination fees.

*As stated, our charges are made on an hourly basis per session for all Parts 1, 2 and 3 training. However, if a trainee wishes to undertake semi-intensive or intensive courses, then we reserve the right to charge an initial non-refundable deposit to guard against late cancellation by the trainee.

As the final exam will prove very difficult for a test candidate with no teaching experience, it is recommended that a Trainee Instructors Licence is applied for before attempting the final exam.

BEWARE!
* If you should decide to look at various training establishments make sure that you are satisfied with the quality, content, structure and cost of their courses.
* Check out the person who will be taking you for your course. Don't be afraid to ask to see their qualifications.
* The national average pass rate for the part three exam is only about 30% and with poor training this means you will never qualify in the two year period.
* Out-of-area instructor training organizations often advertise a guaranteed job placement in your area. This can often be a misleading advert as they hope a local Driving School can employ you.
